Russia in the I quarter increased exports of ferrous metals by 1.3%.
From January to March 2017 the Russian enterprises increased exports of ferrous metals by 1.3% compared to the same period in 2016 - up to 10.3 million tons. At the same time, the import of steel pipes increased by 16.1% mainly due to the growth in supplies from the CIS, which increased by 37.2%. This is stated in the materials of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia.
In monetary terms the exports of ferrous metals increased by 57.4% to $ 4.4 billion. Thereat, the supplies to the far abroad decreased by almost 2% to 8.94 million tons, totaling $ 3.69 billion, and exports to the CIS countries increased by 27.6% to 1.36 million tons by $ 704.6 million.
The coal exports in January-March 2017 was 41.67 million tons, which is by 4.85% exceeds the value within the same period last year. In monetary terms the coal exports increased by almost 51% to $ 3.12 billion. Iron ore supplies increased by 15.4% to 4.74 million tons, in monetary terms they are more than doubled - to $ 315.7 million.
In January - March the steel pipes import increased by 16.1% to 140.6 thousand tons for a total of $191.6 million. In part, the pipes supply from far abroad decreased by 14.4% to 41.7 thousand tons for a total of $110.2 million, from the CIS - increased by 36.6% to 98.9 thousand tons for the amount of $81.5 million.
