Russian President Vladimir Putin through video conference will take part in the launch of the northernmost mainland oil field in the Russian Federation - the East Messoyakhskoye field in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. The press service of the Kremlin reports .... On Tuesday Putin will take part in the launch of industrial exploitation of the East Messoyakhsky field - the Head of State will contact the industrial facility via the teleconference. The president will be reported on the implementation of the project, which is the largest for Russia in the Arctic zone - the report will be presented by the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin and the head of Gazprom Alexei Miller.
The East Messoyakhskoye field is the most northern continental oil field in Russia. It is located in the Tazovsky district of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, at 340 km from Novy Urengoy. The reserves of the field exceed 340 million tons of oil (including gas condensate) and 113 billion cubic meters of gas. The unique feature of the project is its complete transport autonomy. Oil from Messoyakh will be delivered via the pressure pipeline connecting the field with the Zapolyarye-Purpe pipeline. The joint venture Messoyakhaneftegaz is engaged in the development of the East Messoyakhskoye field, 50% of which belong to Rosneft and 50% to Gazprom Neft.
