At the international meeting of representatives of the Arctic Council countries members Kirill Molodtsov, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation said that the Ministry of Energy of Russia expects to maintain gas production in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.

"The absolute value of gas production will increase and it will exceed, as we expect, 700 billion cubic meters per year. Currently about 80% of all Russian gas is produced in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, and this figure will remain in the next 20 years", said Kirill Molodtsov

Discussion of the Arctic as a new hydrocarbon production center and driver of innovative technologies will take place within the REW 2017 framework. One of the discussion topics will be the implementation of the largest project for the production of liquefied natural gas "Yamal LNG" and the construction of the new Arctic seaport "Sabetta.
