"Judo Club Turbostroitel" - successor to the glorious traditions of the sports club of the Leningrad Metal Plant, one of the oldest sports clubs in the city. In 1969, the Sambo section was opened here, headed by the future Honored Coach of Russia Anatoly Rakhlin. Later, when the USSR began to develop judo, he was one of the first in the country to train athletes in this sport. Today Anatoly Rakhlin is called as a legendary coach, associating his name with numerous victories of judo wrestlers, whom he brought up for Soviet and Russian sports.

The club formed many high-class athletes, and the name of Rakhlin, the honored coach of Russia, has long been known far beyond our country. Among his pupils are people who have become famous not only in sports, but also in politics, science, business and etc. - Vladimir Putin, Nikolai Kononov, Arkady and Boris Rothenberg, Valentin Stepanov, Vasily Shestakov, Georgy Kukoverov, Eugene Efremov, Tatyana Ivanova, Ekaterina Buravtseva.

The pupils of the Club defended the sports honor of the city in the national teams of Leningrad - St. Petersburg, under the flag of the USSR, and then - Russia, they won at international competitions.

Today, the Judo Club Turbostroitel, headed by the son of Anatoly Rakhlin, honored trainer of Russia Mikhail Rakhlin is the center of judo for the training of high-class athletes in the teams of St. Petersburg and Russia (the Anatol Rakhlin judo academy) and the public association that develops social and charitable projects.
